Although it’s supposed to be set in New York City, the Australian setting comes in
Scenario
After secretly raising an incredibly talented spider, 12-year-old Charlotte must confront the facts about her pet—and fight for her family’s survival—when the once-charming creature quickly transforms into a giant, carnivorous monster. Charlotte names the spider Sting after seeing a copy of J.R.R.’s The Hobbit. Sting is not the name of a spider in The Hobbit, but the name of the sword Bilbo uses to fight spiders. Doorknobs are about 3 feet off the ground in the US, here the handles are halfway up the doors.
Frank: I don’t think spiders make good pets
When showing a street view, cars are parked on the “wrong side” of the streets compared to the US. You know, spiders don’t have the capacity for love. A spider only knows two things: to eat and to kill. In the credits, it is revealed that Bonnie the dog survived her kidnapping by Sting.
What a Day to Die Written by Patricia H
Presents Frankenstein (1931). Ericson Published by Cradle Rocks & Low Tide Music performed by The Pleasure Seekers courtesy of d2 Music o/b/o Cradle Rocks Records. This is a horror movie for sure, if you like horror movies I recommend this one. As the title suggests, I went into watching not really knowing and that was a good thing.
I won’t spoil it here
You know, it’s about a spider and a little girl, that’s on the cover. Is this spider good or bad, the girl is bad, they are friends, these are things I had no idea about and I kept it that way until I got a chance to see it in the movies. I would say this could probably wait for a streaming or DVD/Blu-ray release if it is still relevant. The special effects are good, but this is not the kind of movie that warrants a bigger screen than most people have at home these days.
Otherwise, it is still good and worth watching
If you like horror, give this one a try and try not to read too much into it so you can be surprised as well. There is blood, gore, and it is a good time.
