If you love the Alien franchise, there’s a good chance you’ll be quite satisfied with this film… Because it combines most of the notable elements that have made the franchise so popular over the years (check out the numerous nods or easter eggs the various films in the franchise, through subtle elements, characters or storylines)… Of course it’s a product of our modern times (filming techniques, effects) while retaining most of the classic atmosphere and tone of alien films… the visual language is overall quite excellent, here and there really remarkable footage (great framing and composition)…

Then you have a great opportunity!

Yes, it may disappoint some who have a sense of ownership of the franchise, as it definitely expands and explores the legend. a little bit (which I personally look for in sci-fi sagas that span decades)… Also, the lead actress (Kaley Spaeni) carries the film really well, with a quiet strength, subtlety and intensity… So if you’re looking for an alien movie that it uses most of the old ingredients while re-imagining and/or exploring and exploring beyond what we are used to…

Whether they’re exploring the stars, escaping dystopias, or making the world a better place, these women are what science fiction is all about

It’s fun to see Michael Keaton reprising one of his most famous roles

As a big fan of the original, it pains me to say that the long-awaited sequel is a dull, scattered mess. There are too many storylines unfolding in this movie and not all of them are interesting enough to make us care. He slips back into that striped suit like he hasn’t missed a beat.

By then, it’s too lateThe original Beetlejuice was perfection

But the movie doesn’t really come alive (or become undead?) until the last third of the film. That’s when the pace ramps up and the laughs start flying in rapid-fire fashion. The sequel is a good example of why people say perfection is something you shouldn’t mess with.

I didn’t really enjoy this movie

I didn’t feel connected to the new characters

His first spell was Beetlejuice tormenting the Dietz family. There really wasn’t enough of that in this movie. Overall I think I’m being very generous with a 6 out of 10 rating, could have gone lower.

I just couldn’t get the gist of it

There are no serious complaints about the acting, but it just didn’t have the charm of the first film. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can definitely wait until it’s streaming.
